"This experience was really amazing especially ‘cause I've never done anything like this before. I've never had guidance on recording and in real-time; I've always just kind of tried to do lessons not recording, and then try to jump in with that skill, but it's so helpful to do it in real-time because it does give me a lot more creative clarity and confidence. I'm able to see better where my strengths are and where my areas of growth are - things that I didn't even notice about my enunciation. I would practice with singers that would not want you to enunciate as much. I'm so focused on projecting cause I felt like that would take away from the production, but knowing things that you told me - it’s really helpful to see that that's actually something that can strengthen my singing! So, overall this was really awesome because this was way more seamless than if I had just done this alone.”

"I reached out to Ametaphor for vocal lessons and I must say I've never felt so easily understood and seen. Taking lessons from Shana one can feel her true genuine love for all that she does. Her purpose and intention shine directly through her. I feel this transparency adds a great level of comfortability to the lesson, as you can really see that she is there for you and your voice/goals specifically. Her knowledge is vast, and she articulates the specificities of vocal understanding with grace. She knows exactly what you need for your voice according to your goals. Hey beautiful souls, I’m Shana—also known as Ametaphor on all music platforms. I’m the founder of D.A.W.lphin Mothership, a womxn and non-binary-led creative music production haven. This sanctuary is a space where we can explore our voices as our most powerful instruments, transforming sound into ripples of positive energy that resonate across the world.
The inspiration for the dolphin came to me during my channeling sessions. Over time, I realized why they called out to me—they communicate through sound! It felt like the universe was aligning my passion for healing and music production, guiding me to create a space where we blend the mystical with the musical, the cosmic with the creative. Here, we transcend the ordinary, crafting Top 40-quality sound infused with the magic of our essence.
A Little About Me
From the tech-centric vibes of Silicon Valley, California, to the serene, grounded energy of Virginia, my journey has been anything but linear. I’m a singer, producer, illustrator, and healer currently training as a Reiki Master. My love for music began as a way to heal my own traumas, sparked by a childhood spent with a creative yet challenging family dynamic.
I’ve walked many paths—from opera school drop-out to bodybuilding enthusiast, finally choosing the road of music production, determined to make my dreams a reality. My journey brought me to Icon Collective LA, where I graduated with an award for most-improved student in a class dominated by men. This experience ignited my commitment to carving out a space for women in music production, to help us stand strong and shine bright.

Why I Created This Space
Growing up, I often felt alone in my passion for music, especially as a woman in a male-dominated industry. I faced countless challenges, from struggling to find community support to dealing with toxic relationships that threatened to silence my voice. But through it all, my dream remained a beacon of hope and purpose. I knew I had to create what I wished existed—a space where we could all feel safe, supported, and empowered to create the music we love.
